Islam and the Foundations of Human Rights
This book examines Islam’s views on fundamental human rights issues, such as human dignity, equality, freedom, justice, peace, tolerance, the general principles of women’s rights, and the theory of the state in Islam. The content of the book demonstrates that an empathetic understanding of Islam, in harmony with the principles of human rights, is easy and unpretentious. However, Muslims may have their own interpretations of human rights principles within the framework of human rights norms. These interpretations, however, will never diminish or weaken the principles and foundations of human rights. The book attempts to interpret the categories present in Islamic teachings that may appear incompatible with human rights. It was published in December 2023 by Negah-e Mo’aser Publication in Tehran and spans 364 pages.
